Hosted Trip to Abaco Bahamas
Tailhunter Outdoor Adventures is pleased and excited to announce a guided fishing excursion to Abaco, in the Bahamas. This trip will take place at Abaco Lodge, with me, Captain John Tarr, as the host. I am beyond excited to be offering this trip to my clients; in fact, it has been a dream of mine for almost a decade and I am finally getting to make it come true! I will be hosting this trip from October 1 through October 5, 2018. Four nights and three days of pure bliss at a spectacular lodge.
Abaco Lodge is the sole bonefishing resort in the Marls, on the island’s western edge. The Marls is enveloped by a recently designated National Park. Inside its perimeters, with an average depth of about four feet and little tidal influence, lives one of the top-rated bonefisheries in the Bahamas. Your guides at Abaco Lodge know every inch of it. From blue holes that attract juvenile tarpon (and not-so-juvenile barracuda) to productive bonefish flats and hundreds of cays extending from Cross Harbour in the south to stretches well north of the lodge, you’ll explore new and unpressured water daily. This is why I chose Abaco Lodge for this adventure. I wanted to offer my clients some of the best bonefishing in the world, with some of the top guides. I have personally spent time on the water with these guides and know how sharp their eyes are, how hard they work, and the focus they have when they are on the water. Like me, their only desire is to make your trip memorable and bring smiles that will last a lifetime.
This trip will be perfect for anglers of any experience level and whether you prefer fly fishing or conventional gear. For those anglers new to the saltwater realm, I will be on-hand to offer daily casting lessons on and off the water. I am a certified casting instructor and I’ve taught hundreds of people how to cast or improve their casting. I have learned how to teach from some of the best fly casting instructors in the world, including Flip Pallot, Chico Fernandez and Lefty Kreh. In addition, I’ve been instructing and training people for more than 20 years in other work assignments. This experience has allowed me to develop my own teaching style and the ability to communicate with anyone I have tried to teach.
Looking for a trip that will offer a wide variety? You will be hard pressed to find one with a better opportunity than this one. While the area is known for great bonefishing, there is also a chance to target permit, tarpon, barracuda, snapper, and sharks on the flats. Weather permitting, the offshore possibilities exist for dolphin and other species. The variety is enough to keep every angler challenged and happy. Daily fishing trips can be customized to help meet the desires and needs of each client.

In addition to the above average service associated with Abaco Lodge, I am going to be adding a personalized touch for each client. Customized fly boxes, or conventional tackle boxes, water bottles and more will be included in the trip. This trip is limited to 12 customers! It will book fast and I can guarantee future prices will only increase. The trip is all inclusive, with the exception of airfare and tips. Meals, three days of guided fishing, open bar, loaner tackle, and transportation to and from Marsh Harbour Airport is all included in the price.
